2 euro commemorative dedicated to the 5th centenary of the death of Il Perugino, BU.

Owner of two very active shops, in Florence and Perugia, he was for a couple of decades the most famous and influential Italian painter of his time, so much so as to be defined by Agostino Chigi: "the best master of Italy". He attended Verrocchio’s workshop together with Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci. He is considered one of the greatest exponents of humanism and the greatest representative of Umbrian painting of the fifteenth century. He collaborated in the decorations of the Sistine Chapel with Sandro Botticelli, where he painted his most famous work, Delivery of the Keys.
