Blood has always represented a mysterious and fascinating field of study, as Leonardo da Vinci said: “It gives life and spirit to all parts where it spreads”. On 1818 J. Blundell gave the  first transfusion of human blood. On 1901 Karl Landsteiner discovered blood types making transfusion less risky. The first transfusion in Slovacchia took place on 1923.
