2 euro coin dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the Ministry of Health in Italy, Brilliant Uncirculated. “The Republic safeguards health as a fundamental right of the individual and as a collective interest”, as article 32 of the Italian Constitution reads, thus underlining the importance of the protection of health as an inalienable human right and a universal good. In 1958 the Ministero della Sanità was established
in 2001 renamed as “Ministero della Salute”
to ensure full implementation of this constitutional provision, while the attainment of its goals were entrusted to the “Servizio Sanitario Nazionale” (National Health Service), which was founded in 1978.
