2 euro commemorative coin dedicated to the 2200th anniversary of the death of Titus Maccius Plautus, Brilliant Uncirculated. Tito Maccio Plauto was born in Sàrsina between 255 and 250 a.C. and he died in Rome in 184 B.C. Perhaps he participated in the war against the Boi and Insubri Gauls (which ended with the victory of Claudio Marcello in 222 BC) and perhaps in this circumstance he abandoned his hometown and moved to Rome. The name "Maccius" would also refer to one of his activities as an actor of Atellane in the early years in Rome. Tito Maccio Plautus writes only "Palliate", translates and readjusts the scripts of the new comedy.
