Maria Callas, the famous Greek opera singer was born  in New York on December 2, 1923. In 1937 she returned to Greece. Once in Athens  she graduated in singing, piano and languages. In 1945 she returned to New York resuming the surname "Callas". In 1951 her debut at La Scala.
Maria Callas died in Paris on September 16, 1977.
