2 euro coin dedicated to the 10th anniversary of EMU, UNC.
The euro is the last step in the long history of commerce, from the prehistoric barracks (evoked by the deliberately primitive design) to the Economic and Monetary Union.
The final design of the coin was chosen by electronic vote from 31 January 2008 to 22 February 2008: the result was announced on 25 February of the same year. Candidate drawings have been pre-selected by the national toll directors of the euro area.
