Pinocchio is the hero of Carlo Collodi's seminal work, "The Adventures of Pinocchio: The Story of a Puppet."
Pinocchio is a fictional character with a singular characteristic: the piece of wood from which he was carved is animated, so even though he is made of wood, he behaves like a human being.
Throughout the novel, he undergoes several transformations.
Pinocchio, emerging from the whale's mouth with Geppetto, finally ceases to be a puppet and becomes a real boy, thanks to the intervention of the Fairy in a dream. Pinocchio's most famous and well-known characteristic is his nose, which grows enormously long when he tells lies.
