Jože Plečnik was a Slovenian architect. His work is characterized by classical forms used in surprising and original ways. His work was forgotten in the ‘60s and ’70s. A new interest arose when postmodernism led to a re-evaluation of classical forms in architecture. He is also known for the design of Tito's summer residence on the Brijuni Islands.
