Official Coin set Brilliant Uncirculated with 7 coins dedicated to Christianity and New Europe. The European spirit would be a child of the Enlightenment, reduced to its most radical expression. The Christian contribution would be limited to the Middle Ages and this would be overcome. The Middle Ages would be nothing but a parenthesis between two radiant vertices: the pagan antiquity and the country of the Mayor of Reason that progressively marches towards us, but has not yet arrived. As a result, Europe would be destined to replace the old "Christianity". The two

would be not only different, but opposite. From the point of view of the history of ideas, there is in this vision a grain of truth: it is true that the Enlightenment used the word "Europe" as opposed to the term "Christianity" that was used previously, and that precisely to the aim to reject it. In the same way we tried to replace the Christian notions with a system of concepts of enlightenment origin.
