2 euro coin dedicated to the World Bees Day,UNC.
In recent years, Slovenia has had a special place internationally, in the areas related to bees and beekeeping. This is why the Slovenian government decided to further improve these activities and, on the initiative of the Slovenian beekeepers association, decided to present a proposal for the proclamation of the World Bee Day in the framework of the United Nations. The date chosen is May 20, the day of birth of Anton Janša, Slovenian breeder and painter, best known for being one of the precursors of rational beekeeping.
