2 euro coin dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Adam Bohoric's birth, UNC. Adam Bohoric was a Slovenian linguist and teacher, author of the first grammar of the Slovenian language. In 1584 he wrote his most important work, Arcticae horulae succisivae. The book, written in Latin, was the first Slovenian grammar and the first Slovenian normative guide. In this writing, Bohoric encodes the first Slovenian alphabet, today called the Bohoric alphabet. This was used until the 1840s, when it was replaced by the Latin alphabet of Gaj.
