Established over 50 years ago, the ISS ensures and manages a complex public system that provides a very wide and heterogeneous range of services, ranging from health care - hospital and territorial -, to economic benefits in the event of workers' illness, checks family, pharmaceutical assistance, social and health assistance, retirement pensions, life benefits, etc.
Since 1955 it has been recognized as a right for all San Marino citizens or residents.
