Description
Coin dedicated to 750th Anniversary of the Birth of Dante Alighieri, Brilliant Uncirculated.
Dante Alighieri, baptized Durante Alighiero of Alighieri and also known only by the name Dante, was a poet, writer and Italian politician. Considered, like Petrarch, the father of the Italian language, he is the author of Comedìa, that has become famous as the Divine Comedy and universally considered the greatest written work in Italian and one of the greatest masterpieces of world literature. Dante is known as the great poet, or, by definition, the Poet. Thanks to Dante the vernacular reached very high levels of expression.
