Lithuania has a rich tradition of popular music, whose most famous manifestation is the "dainos", folk songs of different subjects, dating back to the feudal era, traditionally sung by women, which are the focus of many traditional song festivals. The characteristic polyvocal folk songs are called "sutartines" that accompanied the work of the farmers in the fields, they have very ancient origins. In 2010, they were included in the List of World Heritage Listed by UNESCO.
