2 euro commemorative coin. Part of the basilica is depicted and geometric decorative motifs inspired by the frame of a Hellenic mosaic found in the site. Along the circumference of the inner circle are the words "????????G???S ?O??S F?????O?" and "???????? ??????????" ("ARCHEOLOGICAL SITE OF FILIPPI" and "ELLENICA REPUBLIC" in Greek). The entries for the 2017 issue date are completed in the background and, on the right, a palmetto (brand of Greek mint). In the bottom left is the monogram of the artist (George Stamatopoulos).
