He traveled a lot and met other important artists of the Flemish school. He studied art and painting in Brussels, under the wing of Pieter Coecke van Aeist, court painter of Charles V. Bruegel stands out in the history of art for being one of the first painters to devote himself to landscape painting, raising it to the level of traditional historical and religious subjects. His realistic and detailed depictions of Dutch peasant life were very innovative. However, all his paintings are characterized by a common element. Bruegel always paints with great accuracy and richness of detail.
