2017 - Austria - 25 Euro Silver/Niobium "The Microcosm" BU
The means of transport for this journey is a rather unexpected one - the butterfly. A shining example is found in the raspberry-red and grass-green niobium centre of the coin’s obverse. But the journey of discovery really begins on the coin’s reverse, where a microscopic view of a butterfly wing is shown at the top of the centre. Moving clockwise we go even deeper with the help of an electron microscope. But that is not the end of the expedition: the bottom half of the coin shows a cell, its structure and even its core. What makes the Silver Niobium coin so special is the fact that its niobium tones arise without the application of colour, purely through light refraction on an extremely thin, transparent oxide layer. Microcosm coin truly glistens with knowledge.

This coin, like the Niobium coin issued in 2010 and dedicated to the "Renewable Energies" takes part to the Marvin programm in favour of the environment; Marvin will devolve part of the incomes from the sale of this item to environmental initiatives.

2017 - Finland - 2 euro Commemorative Coin - 100 Years of Independence
In the inner circle there is a mosaic pattern in which the most wicked tiles draw a map of Finland.
The Finnish Declaration of Independence (in Finnish Suomen itsenäisyyspäivä) is celebrated on 6th December and commemorates the Declaration of Independence of Finland from Russia, on December 6, 1917. The national celebration is commemorated solemnly: it is based on songs, military parades and various cultural events where national pride and patriotism are celebrated. There is also a lack of public discourses and traditional Finnish customs.

2017 - Vatican - 2 euro Commemorative Coin "1950th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Saint Peter and Saint Paul" BU
In 67 AD Peter and Paul were martyred in Rome. Peter was crucified upside down and Paul decapitated, a distinction reserved to Roman citizens condemned to death. This year marks the 1.950th anniversary of the martyrdom of the two Saints on whose faith, Pope Francis reminds us, "was founded the Church of Rome, which has always venerated them as Patrons. They proclaimed and witnessed to the Gospel among the people, and with their martyrdom they sealed their mission of faith and charity". With illustrations by Gabriella Titotto, the coin shows the profile of the two Saints along with the two symbols that have always characterized them in iconography: the keys and the sword. The first symbol is an explicit reference to what Jesus conferred to Peter, the keys "to the kingdom of heaven" (Mt 16:13-20). The second symbol refers to the life of Saint Paul, persecutor of Christians before his conversion and martyrdom.
